What is a Website?

A website contains all information we give that reach world wide and get responses. Each website is owned and managed by an individual, company or organization. A website has its own address (called the URL) and it begins with ‘http://www' and ends in .com/, .co.in/, .gov/ .gov.in/, .org/, .edu/ etc.
e.g. - http://www.saibposervices.co.uk/ , http://www.google.co.in/

When we reach a website, we will see a well designed, aligned, animated web page that contains the Company title and their main points such as Links, Photographs, and other relevant matters. This is the Home Page. The homepage is your company's face to the world .


Links are the ‘action items' on a homepage. The links are buttons that help to see the sub pages. The sub pages are inner pages which are mostly less important when compared to the main page. Each sub - page describes a separate section of the company or organization - i.e., Services, Courses, Jobs, Contact information, etc.

There are certain principles to design and manage websites.

1. A website should be User friendly
2. It should give all necessary information about the organization or individual.
3. A well designed website is more beautiful.
4. Give ‘White space' and use standard fonts.
5. The template should be simple and easy to modify.
6. It must be Search Engine friendly
7. Quick downloading over the Internet
8. Easy navigation to keep the user happy
9. Regular Updates give the website a fresh appearance.
10. In addition to all focus on popularity.
    
    Before developing a website

Before developing a website we carefully decide the goals for the website. You need to have a clear vision of what you want in a website.

Then think about what is the purpose of the Website?

Mainly a website contains all the information about a company or individual

Some design websites mainly for introducing their firm. Others have the idea for ‘money making' through their website. Some sell or buy products through web site and this is a E – commerce site. Some websites are for the purpose of entertaining the visitors.
